The braces have definitely helped me and I will do whatever it takes in order to avoid surgery and down time from work. I have also found since I can't type with the braces on an ace bandage wrapped around my wrist works nicely.

Several years ago when I had carpal tunnel I ordered some wrist braces and they helped. I also learned some exercises to stretch the ligaments in the wrists to prevent future flareups. Sure made a difference.

I use the braces when it flares up. They keep you from putting your hand in a bent position which puts pressure on that nerve. Sometimes I have to wear them several nights in a row, but they really help. So far, no mention of surgery! Yea!!
So, I would say yes, the braces help me.

I use the braces when I start getting flare ups. There were periods that I would wake up in the middle of the night in such pain. I started sleeping with the full brace and the pain started to ease and eventually went away. I'll keep doing it, if it means no surgery.

I stuck with wrist braces for years before I had to go to physical therapy and then for years doing that and the braces before I had to have surgery. It's a process. Sometimes the steps happen quicker for some than others.

You can start off there, but I don't think that it is going to correct the problem. You should consult a doctor and they can tell you what you can do to stop the problem, make it better, or at least not make it worse. Surgery might be what they say!

I often wake up at night numbness in my fingers. I haven't been diagnosed, but I'm guessing this is from carpel tunnel. A friend suggested that I sleep with a wrist brace, does this really help?
