My cousin told my brother that her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and they did not tell him about it. I don't know what the doctor advised or if he was given any survival timeline.

Usually when lung cancer is diagnosed, it is diagnosed in a late stage making it terminal or in a very late stage. This makes the treatment very aggressive and not very pleasant. It is for this reason that a regular check up is advised.

My mother also died of lung cancer which metastasized from breast cancer. It took only eight months. I think it's always terminal when the lungs are involved.

My brother in law was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer and died within 6 months. My neighbour has now had a similar diagnosis but doesn't want to know how long he has got. Is it always terminal?
