Yes and it's very frustrating. My sister in law is bipolar and like a lot of you have said, as long as she's on the medication she is fine. But when she is better she thinks she can do without the medication and then the fun begins. She can clean house for hours and wants to scrub everything down. She gets out and goes shopping and spends tons of money (credit), then she and my brother have a hard time paying it back. It's terrible.

I went to school with a girl who had bi-polar. Back then, it wasn't very well known. I remember she had a lot of issues with school, but people thought she was just a problem child. Her mom finally found a doctor to help her. Once she was on medication, she became a whole new person.

Casey – I think kids have a tendency to call any erratic behavior bipolar.
No one in my family is bipolar, but I am convinced my ex-husband is. His mood swings were tremendous and impossible to live with. He refused to get help so I had no choice but to leave him.

My stepson is Bi-Polar. I not sure what medications he takes. He can blow up in an instant. We don`t see him very much but he seems to be doing better with his medication. He just turned 29. Before his medication when he didn`t know he was Bi-Polar wow, he was wild.
There is one thing about Bi-Polar that i really don`t understand. It seems to me that 90% of my kids friends say they have it. Is this the new in thing or what? Not every teenager can be Bi-polar.

Yes! My son is bipolar. He is up one minute and down the next. He is on medication for his bipolar and his ADHD, but he doesn’t always remember to take them. He is a hard person to live with, but I don’t want him living on his own either.

My sister-in-law sounds a lot like your brother. When she is on her medication she is great to be around. When she thinks she's better and gets off her meds, she's awful to be with.

I have a brother with Bipolar disorder and he drives us mad. He is great one day and the next he's hiding in his room and won't come out. I have tried to get him to take his medication consistently but he says he's fine when he's up and too tired when he's down to take it. Have you ever dealt with this?
