Massage may be able to alleviate the pain, but as mentioned by littlejoely, you should consult with your doctor first before having it or doing any exercises.

You should check with your back doctor to see if massage might help. I know it can help with a lot of back problems but I don't know if the movement it would give your spine would slow the arthritis or irritate it.

I think it's a common problem for people who work in sedentary jobs. Try to do some exercises and back stretching regularly. Yoga is a good option and may be more preferred by many people due to its low impact nature.

I have a type of arthritis of the back that is slowly fusing my spine. I am having a lot of back pain and it is horrible. I don't want to take pain pills right now. I'm too young to quit work and I don't want to anyway.
