The best way of dealing with stress is to take control of it while it's small and before it's become a big problem. This means watching out for the signs and symptoms that are caused by stress, especially if you recognize that you experience a lot of stress on a regular basis.

Thanks for the discussion and all the advice, I think I would need it someday. When I got stressed, normally I would read inspirational books and that would help a bit.

Thankfully, I do not get stressed a lot often and I tend to handle it better than most of my friends and family. When I do get stressed I tend to think about it and ask myself why I feel stressed and what I should do about it. If that involves working less, then that is what I go and do.

If done properly, exercises, yoga postures/asanas and meditation combined could be a great way of relieving yourself from stress. In the past, I used to eat to get rid of stress and that would normally do the trick.

Exercising is a great way for me to de-stress. I found that taking some time away from everyone and focusing on myself, even for a short period, really helps me feel better and more able to focus.

I take a step back and acknowledge what is stressing me out and decide whether or not it's important enough to either deal with or let go. Maany times, it's something that cannot be taken care of in that moment, so I let it go until I can deal with it.

I have a friend who has great success with meditation. She would get so stressed throughout the day that she would have a hard time sleeping and this just made things worse. She started to take time to meditate each evening and was able to let go of the stress and sleeps better which helps her handle things much easier.

I`m on medication for anxiety problems. I take Valium. But I still have days when it seems like I am going to lose it. Usually my husband will tell me to go in our room and let him handle whatever it is. I also love to play games on the PC and read books.

Yell, laugh, scream whatever I feel like doing right then. A lot of times I will crank the music and sing along and dance too. I keep funny e-mail jokes and read them when I'm stressed out.

How do you handle stress? Is there something that you do so that you don't get a panic attack or majorly stress yourself out?
I try to deep breath and also laugh. What is the way you deal with it?
