I have not personally had to deal with this.  However, I feel like support groups are wonderful for helping people deal with difficult situations.  Other people can help you feel less alone.  They can also help you come up with solutions that you never thought of yourself.  Maybe offer to go with your mom the first few times to help her feel less self conscious.  She may make some wonderful, lifelong friends there.

Has anyone been to an Alzheimer's support group for caregivers?  I have been wanting my mom to go since she is dealing with her mom, but she has been reluctant.  I know the Mercy in our area has a support group.

Any input on how helpful this has been?  I am sure it would be great to be around people who understand what you are going through.  It is a tough disease for those of us on the outside.
