medtech said:No, Alzheimer's is not known for skipping generations.  Sure, it can happen, but it can also happen several generations in a row.  Your best bet is to discuss your options with your docotr if it does run in your family.  They can tell you of any warning signs to catch the disease earlier plus it's good to have in your history so the doctor can follow up on it periodically.

I have a ton of things in my family going on so sitting down with a doc to talk about the major ones just in itself could be a ahalf a day appointment. I know it skipped my parents, but all of the kids are now adults with kids of our own, so we all have this in the back of our minds floating around for "What If".

I hope it does skip. Although I noticed that not all members of the family get it. If it does skip I hope it will do in my generation. LOL!

The thing is, if it does skip its either going to hit myself or two other sisters of mine, but we have different fathers so I am not sure if that plays into account or not. No one seems to know the answer either, I have tried to contact I think its AH their hotline, no one knows.

I'm not sure if it skips a generation or not.  I know if we have a family member with Alzheimer's disease we are much more likely to get it.  It's such a sad disease.  Most of the people who contract Alzheimer's disease seem to be mostly healthy in other ways, they just lose themselves.

I remember growing up I was told this will skip a generation but how do you know? Also how do you know if someone in your family was not diagnosed but maybe should have been?
