Yes, it is. I read in a book about yoga that the effects of yoga poses are mainly physio-psychic. The creative visualizations performed along with the poses inspire our mind with positive energy and "leave us relaxed yet enthusiastic to face the challenges of daily life".

I think yoga is definitely an excellent way to prevent any physical disorders and to keep your body fit. I hear it is also very good for relaxation of the mind.

I worry you have given up too early. Could I know how and where did you learn yoga? Are you self-taught or did you attend yoga classes? It's advisable especially for the beginners to attend classes and not learn yoga from books or videos.

Yes, I am a beginning yoga practitioner. I already felt some of the benefits of yoga when I started practicing it. I felt fresher and more healthy. There are indeed many simple postures you can do easily, even if you have never do yoga before.

In yoga, balance and flexibility are not requirements. Instead, they are resultsof your regular and sincere practice. There are many simple yoga postures you can easily perform even if you have never did yoga before.

Yoga asanas (the physical aspect of yoga) is not particularly aimed to cure diseases or bodily function disorders. Rather, it's a "gentle exercise", practicing which you can keep your body fit and healthy, and our mental condition balanced.
