I'd be really interested in the personal steamer to help clear out congestion. When I used to get really stuffed up, I'd boil water and inhale the steam but that's such a hassle sometimes.

They make personal steam things for your nose. They are wonderful at helping relieve a stuffy nose. My MIL gave me one, and it really does help! I was reading the thread about Neti pots, too. I might give that a try. Especially when I have been out mowing – like today! Talk about allergies and stuffy nose!! LOL!!!

I would go with the eucalyptus as well. I went to the spa one time and sat in the steam room and they had eucalyptus in the steam and when I got out I was all cleared up.

If the problem is chronic, you might want to see your doctor and get a nasal spray that prevents swelling membranes in your sinuses. If your passages are swollen, that can give you the stuffy feeling.

Eucalyptus is good and I think that is what's in the Vick vapour rub. I use my facial sauna with a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the water and a towel over my head.

If your congestion is caused by allergies, the best thing I've found for OTC remedies is Zyrtec, or the generic equivalent. Claritin seemed to work better on the sneezy, watery eye symptoms but Zyrtec did wonders for the congestion.

Whenever I have a stuff nose, two things work out really well for me. The first one is Vicks vapor rub. I just rub a bit under my nose and it clears things up. The other is a nasal spray of saline solution. It's non-additive because it's just salt water.

Nope I have never heard of that before. I will give it a try because I want to stop the stuffy nose!
Where can I buy the spray? I've never seen it out there, but I wasn't looking before.

Have you ever heard of using the smell of eucalyptus spray to help with this? I am not sure exactly how it works but it does, a friend turned me onto it years ago and just the smell, like a spray on a tissue and taking some whiffs helps.

I'm so tired of having a stuffy nose. There has to be something that I can do instead of taking a sinus pill. I try to not take sinus pills unless I have a terrible headache.
Is there anything I can do to stop the stuffiness?
