Neti pots have been recommended by all of the EENT doctors I have seen. I have tried them, and they do work. It is a little awkward at first, but it only takes a try or two. You can pick them up at places like Walgreens, with the packets of mix. They are much easier than trying to mix your own solution. Give it a try!

I've only seen pictures of Neti pots but never tried them. They look like they'd be a bit cumbersome and messy.

I don't have a Neti pot but what I've done is use one of those blue bulb thingies (used to suck out a baby's nose) to suck up some saline solution. Then I gently squeeze it into my nose to rinse out my sinuses. I do about half a cup each nostril.

My wife made me give it a try and I'm so glad that she did. I used to have a stuffy nose all the time. I started using the Neti-pot and I rarely have it anymore. It's awesome. At first I was a bit scared. I know a man scared? But you are pouring water into your nose.
It's easy to use and it works!

Since my allergies are so severe, I've been on allergy medications since I was a child. I absolutely hate nasal sprays so only use these if necessary but none of the pills really work for me anymore. I was told to try a neti pot but it seems to me that it would be even worse than using a nasal spray. I'm not sure I could get used to it. Anyone use one of these? Is it truly effective?
