Allergies can affect people in different ways.  You could be having asthma symptoms due to airborne allergies, or even food allergies.  My sister has asthma symptoms whenever she consumes too much milk product.  It would be best to follow your doctor's suggestions and try to determine what is causing your problem.  Then you can hopefully treat your allergy.
