I am also familiar with Alanon, as my friend found support with dealing with her father's alcoholism.  I think it's so important for the people who love a person with an addiction to find support, as it impact their lives just as much.

I know there is Alanon for family of alcoholics to share their experiences and find support in dealing with the disease.  I'm sure there are other support groups for dealing with other types of addictions.

It doesn't seem that addiction is just hard for the alcoholic/drug abuser/etc., but it is also hard for the people in their lives. Is there help for the enabler as well?
