I have been approached by my doctor about surgically correcting the cause of my GERD, which is a hiatal hernia.  I seriously do not want to have another surgery. 

But, on the other hand it would be wonderful to not have the problems I have with my stomach.  Has anyone done this?  If so, how did it turn out for you?  What was the recovery time?
